well, I figured that since I have nothing better to do and I haven't seen anything like this is FAQ, I'd organize them and post them here so everyone can appreciate the humor of our addictions to tt.net. Some members don't even know what I'm talking about right now, most haven't ever looked up the different stages, and some are already clicking the back button on their browser, but for those who choose to read this, I think you'll appreciate the moderators sense of humor as much as I do...
(Note: "veteran" users will appreciate this more than newbies)Stage stock addict: A brand new user. Probably hasn't discovered the FAQ or Search functions yet. Hopefully first post isn't 'Because regular Zs are slow, I'm building a flying one.' Still 100% socially active. Stage I addict: Has probably figured out what a POP charger is but doesn't know what color to paint his/her calipers yet. Is beginning to dominate conversations with limited Z knowledge, but only to non-Z friends. Stage II addict: Has probably now installed a POP charger and knows how to use Search but largely ignores it because it's easier to post a question for the 1,000th time. Still doesn't know what the suction cups are for. Will not advance to Stage III until he/she demonstrates the successful use of the Search function. Stage III addict: The top of the bell curve. Likely actually has a Stage III or higher Z. Comfortable with all aspects of the site and lends help whenever possible. Argues the finer points of useless Z32 trivia ad nauseum. Stage IV addict: Serious addiction has set in after the leap from Stage III. Phone calls will be rarely returned now unless it’s to confirm payment for the latest group buy. Stage V addict: Changes clutches on Zs just for the fun of it. Free (non-tt.NET) time now spent on other car boards trying to start flame wars. Orders lots of delivery pizza rather than leave the computer. Stage VI addict: Money spent on mods likely exceeds actual cost of Z. Idea of vacation is travelling to other cities to hang out with local tt.NET members. Stage VII addict: Spends more time at work on tt.NET than actually working. Considers girlfriend to be any female member of tt.NET that he has posted a reply to at least twice. Stage VIII addict: Has most mods available and spends more money on aftermarket parts monthly than on mortgage. Still ventures outside for the occasional movie as long as it's not 'The Fast and the Furious' Guapo is a Stage IX addict: Is now considering how to twin turbo his/her 4 cyl 75hp beater car because it takes too long to get to work. Social skills are seriously impaired. Slobbers at the dinner table. Stage X addict: Can probably pull and tear down a VG30DExx engine blindfolded in less than 3 hours. This member is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Spends 23 hrs per day on the forum with the other hour dedicated to looking at a non-functional Z in the garage. Stage XXX addict: Mere mortals can never hope to achieve this level. An OC3 line has actually been intravenously inserted in the back of the skull with the browser hardwired to the TwinTurbo.NET home page. Only one person (from what I've seen and believe) is Stage XXX. "Hi, my name is Damon and I'm a tt.net addict..." :P
